Blackhall, Edinburgh

This front garden was tired and in need of a rejuvenation. The clients were keen to encourage wildlife and pollinators into the garden and wanted the garden to be low maintenance with no lawn.

Stabilised gravel has been used for both the drive and in place of existing paved paths, while a new sandstone paved path provides a route through the garden to the front door. Scottish river pebbles with stepping stones and plants have been used in areas with less foot traffic, and a water bowl sits in amongst pollinator friendly plants. In addition, a sedum 'green roof' has been added to the bike store.

Photos below show what the garden looked like before, and when newly planted.  New plants will quickly grow to spill over edges and fill out the planting areas
